Castle Taufers: Castl Taufers is an important point on the program for all castle lovers and art-interested. From the 12th up to 14th century lived the powerful dynasty familiy Taufers there and gave the name to the castle. Absolutely worth seeing are the library, the prince room, the spirit room, the preparation chamber as well as the castle chapel.

The 12 hectar garden is Europes most beautiful gardens. The region's most popular destination comprises more than eighty diverse garden landscapes in a singular fusion of art and nature. The Gardens feature multifaceted interactive stations, multiple blooming seasons throughout the year. Well worth seeing is as well South Tyrol's first museum of tourism, as well as fantastic views of Merano and the surrounding Alpine world.

Ötzi the Iceman (3,300 B.C.) and the artefacts found alongside him form the centrepiece of the exhibition. The Tyrol Museum of Archaeology presents as well the history of South Tyrol from the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic (15,000 B.C.) to the Carolingian period (around 800 A.D.)

You find the Mine Museum in Prettau in the Tauferer Ahrntal. Visit the copper ore mine on a pit train and learn about the different depicting mining methods.
